RE: Changes since 4.3...
September 19, 1992
SW 4.3a
This version corrects a small problem with the fill line feature when
combined with wide margins and border 5. It also adds the ability to have
multiple /I windows within the same screen definition. Assuming you have
adequate environment space, you can then get multiple strings from the
user with one SW call. An example of such a screen def is show below:
:display
_window /kred▒░ /s /r816 /c1565 /2 /gwhi
/m " Multiple Input Example "
"Line 1: "
"Line 2: "
"Line 3: "
_window /l0 /0 /r10 /n1 /i20v1
Line 1:
_window /l0 /0 /r12 /n1 /i20v2
Line 2:
_window /l0 /0 /r14 /n1 /i20v3
Line 3:
:end_display
The first window sets up the template with labels and the next three get
the input, highlighting the label for each line.

SW 4.3b
The first change involves fixing a small bug with /l0 /0 in the /x43 and
x50 modes which caused the window to be too small for the text.
The second change is a new feature to allow cursor position setting. The
switch is /@rrcc where rr is the row and cc is the column. The column can
be omiited and will default to 1. This switch can be used to direct the
output of another program to a specific row on the screen. The column
setting will only work for the first row printed.
This switch can also be used to hide the cursor. Include /@- on your
command line and the cursor will disappear. It can be restored with any SW
command. SW /p1 is a suitable "do nothing" line that will bring the cursor
back.

SW 4.4
SW now detects and sets the 28 line VGA mode with the /x28 switch.
Highlighting blocks of text can now be marked with curly braces {}
surrounding the block to be highlighted (/E#). Also, /E is now a postion
sensitive switch allowing a different highlight color for each line of
text. It works like the /G switch affecting all lines that follow it.
Text handling of SW has been increased to the limits of whatever screen
mode you are in. If you define a window without a border or margin that is
the full size of the screen, SW will display lines up to 80 characters in
length and as many lines as there are to the screen, i.e. 25, 28, 43 or 50.
Also, lines which are too long for the window are truncated without an
error display.
Fixed /A so that E0 thru B0 now play the right notes.
DI 1.4
/TYPE switch returns EL based on device type. Detects floppy drives from
360K to 2.88M, hard disks, tape drives and optical drives.

SW 4.4a
Corrected default mode of /I so it puts input line on last line of window.

SW 4.4b
Added input blanking to /I so that passwords could be entered without showing
the string on the screen. An * placed after the field length and before the
variable name (if used) is all that is needed.
Help has been moved to an external screen definition file called "SW.HLP".
This makes SW smaller as well as allowing users to customize the help to their
liking.
